The Arcade in Bognor Regis is a covered shopping passage linking the High Street with Belmont Street, close to the seafront. Its appeal is a short visit to individual shops within an Edwardian building, rather than a large modern mall with one shared shopping timetable.

The building is also the subject of regeneration plans. The council’s January 2026 announcement concerned proposals for upper floors and other changes; it should not be read as confirmation that a refurbishment has already finished.

Shops to look for in The Arcade

The local destination directory lists Trident Menswear at number 12, the Sweet Jar at number 11 and Reeves & Sons Jewellery at number eight. These provide three different reasons to stop: clothing, traditional sweets and jewellery.

The Sweet Jar’s listing describes sweets, fudge, liquorice and seaside gifts. Reeves & Sons’ entry covers new and pre-owned jewellery. Check the businesses directly for present opening hours or a particular product; the table below is a selected list, not a complete census of occupied units.

How to get to The Arcade

Address: The Arcade, Bognor Regis, West Sussex, PO21 1LH

Approach on foot from the High Street or Belmont Street. The passage provides a link between town-centre shopping and the seafront area, making it suitable for a short stop within a wider visit.

For rail travel, plan to Bognor Regis station and use the map for the onward walking route. No fixed station-to-shop walking time is assumed here. If travelling by bus, check the stop and return service for your chosen route, particularly on Sundays.

Parking nearby

The council’s current Bognor Regis parking information lists the Regis Centre car park on Belmont Street, PO21 1BL. Its published daytime tariff is £1.90 for up to one hour and £2.50 for two hours, with longer stays charged at higher rates. Charges apply 8am–6pm, seven days a week.

Fitzleet multi-storey on Queensway, PO21 1QN, is another town-centre option. Its published tariff begins at £1.90 for up to two hours. The council also lists a two-hour free allowance with a valid parking disc; this is not an automatic free stay for every driver.

Fitzleet has a 2.12-metre height limit and is locked from 10pm to 7am. Check the car-park signs, payment instructions and any disc conditions before leaving your vehicle.

What is happening to the building?

Arun District Council’s 23 January 2026 update said its planning committee had resolved on 14 January to grant permission, subject to final conditions, for refurbishment and extension of the vacant upper floors.

The announcement described up to 35 apartments, additional ground-floor retail and external amenity space, with original features retained where possible. It also recorded the Arcade’s opening in 1902. The update did not establish that construction or the completed scheme was available to visitors.

Before you go

Check arrangements with the shop you need

A current business listing and a building-wide regeneration proposal answer different questions. Confirm individual opening hours and access before a special journey, particularly if you need a step-free entrance.
