Choosing a day out for your family

For a day with no admission charge, start with Hove’s photography and storytime sessions or the Mid Sussex play days. For indoor creative activities, compare the two Museum Makers sessions carefully: Brighton’s activity is included with museum admission, while Hove charges for the workshop.

Families with younger children may prefer Nymans, Borde Hill’s three-to-eight-year-old trail or Arundel’s programme without jump scares. Older children have the basketball and badminton camps, with different age and experience requirements. When comparing paid attractions, add adult admission, trail packs, parking and optional activities to the headline price.
