Skateboarders in Hove have until Monday 2 November to enter a competition bringing two age groups together at the British Engineerium.
The Skate Club x Route One Game of Skate takes place at the indoor skatepark on Saturday 14 November 2026. Organisers will select 16 competitors, split equally between under-16 and 16-plus categories, with both open to all genders.
Route One Brighton is providing prizes for the knockout competition, which gives local skaters a chance to test their flat-ground tricks against one another.

How does a Game of Skate work?
Two skaters take turns setting tricks for their opponent to match. A missed trick earns a letter, and the first competitor to spell SKATE loses the match. Winners progress through the knockout rounds until the final.
There will be eight selected skaters in each age group. The organisers aim to announce the competitors and reserves on Friday 6 November.
How to enter the Hove competition
To apply, film three consecutive flat-ground tricks in one continuous clip, post it to an Instagram Story and tag @theskateclubUK and @route_one_brighton. Parents or guardians can submit on behalf of their children.
Entry is free, but submitting a clip does not guarantee a place in the competition. The deadline is Monday 2 November 2026.
The organiser’s current event page describes first prizes in each category as worth around £150, including a £50 Route One voucher and products. Second prizes are listed at £75, including a £25 voucher and products. The vouchers can only be redeemed at Route One’s Brighton store.
Watching the competition
Spectators can join from 2.30pm on Saturday 14 November, with the event finishing at 6.30pm. The semi-finals, finals and prize presentations are scheduled from 4.30pm for anyone who wants to catch the closing stages.
Spectator tickets cost £1. The Skate Club’s Zac Dodd has confirmed both the ticket price and the 2.30–6.30pm event hours.
