What is included in the evening?

The venue’s event announcement sets out a drinks reception in the Music Room, followed by dinner in the State Banqueting Room.

Dishoom Permit Room is preparing the vegetarian menu, with music from The Mehfil Space. The published programme also includes wine, beer and whisky with dinner and a final drink from the event’s Permit Room menu.

Why Permit Room and The Mehfil Space are involved

Permit Room is Dishoom’s bar-café in Brighton’s Lanes, at 32 East Street. Its Brighton programme combines Bombay-inspired food with music and work by local and South Asian artists. The Pavilion evening takes that restaurant partnership into the palace; tickets are for the Pavilion event, not a table at East Street.

Dishoom’s event announcement describes The Mehfil Space’s contribution as South Asian classical performances. That is more specific than background music or a DJ night. The advertised sequence gives guests a reception in the Music Room before a three-course vegetarian or vegan meal in the State Banqueting Room and a final drink.

Diwali, often called the festival of lights, is celebrated in different ways by Hindu, Jain and Sikh communities. This dinner is a dated cultural celebration within the season. Its 12 November booking date should not be treated as a universal date for every community’s Diwali observance.

Booking and dietary requirements

This is a separately ticketed evening, so use the event booking page rather than buying an ordinary daytime admission ticket. Check current availability, the full menu, dietary provision and any age restrictions before paying. Dishoom’s own event page also confirms a vegan option. Ask for the relevant menu and allergen information when arranging a booking; vegetarian and vegan descriptions do not establish suitability for every allergy.

At the advertised 15 per cent member discount, an £85 ticket would be £72.25 before any additional booking charge, a saving of £12.75. That calculation assumes the discount applies to the full ticket price; the booking confirmation determines the final amount. A dish-by-dish menu and soft-drinks alternative have not been published. Dishoom asks guests with additional dietary requirements to contact [email protected] before booking and says it cannot guarantee allergen-free dishes or drinks. Tickets and refund enquiries are managed by the Pavilion.
