The Orchards puts food shopping, clothes, homeware and everyday services together in Haywards Heath. M&S, Tesco and Next are among the larger names, with independent businesses and specialist shops adding to the choice.

It is also a practical place to combine errands. The directory includes opticians, a pharmacy, hair and beauty businesses and Locks & Cobblers, alongside shopping and food outlets.

What is at The Orchards?

Clarks, Fat Face, Roman and Mountain Warehouse are among the clothing and footwear options. Collingwood Batchellor appears in the homeware mix, while Inspiration Gift Shop, Ouh La La and Paws on Track provide more specialist stops.

The Bay Tree Café and the Sussex Biltong Co are listed too. The directory is a starting point for planning several stops, but check food outlets and service businesses directly if your visit depends on a particular time.

How to get to The Orchards

Address: St Wilfrid’s Way, Haywards Heath, West Sussex, RH16 3AH

Haywards Heath station is north of the shopping area. The centre’s visitor information estimates a walk of 15–20 minutes, roughly 0.8 to one mile. Allow more time if travelling with children, carrying shopping or using a route that suits your access needs.

For buses, use the centre’s linked operator information to plan a journey to Haywards Heath town centre. Check the individual stop and direction for your service rather than assuming every bus passes the same entrance. Drivers should use the visitor postcode above; the management office has a different postal postcode.

Parking and toilets

Parking is available off St Wilfrid’s Way, with Hazelgrove, off St Joseph’s Way, another option listed by the centre. The council’s current parking page gives Haywards Heath pay-and-display rates of £1.30 for one hour, £2 for two and £2.90 for three. Longer-stay prices differ between short-stay and long-stay car parks.

The council lists charging hours of 8am–6pm Monday to Saturday and 9am–5pm on Sundays and bank holidays. The centre’s visitor page gives a later weekday finish, so use the signs in your chosen car park to resolve that discrepancy before paying.

The council’s public-toilet information confirms accessible toilets and baby-changing facilities at The Orchards. Published opening hours are 7am–6pm from October to March and 7am–9pm from April to September. RADAR-key access to the accessible toilets is usually available around the clock.

Before you go

Check shop hours before an early or late visit

The Orchards does not provide a single timetable that covers every retailer. A supermarket’s opening time does not establish when the clothes shops, pharmacy, café or other services will be open.

Planning the rest of your visit

Questions before you visit

Is The Orchards beside Haywards Heath station?

Allow a walk of about 15–20 minutes using the centre’s estimate, rather than treating the station as an entrance to the shopping area.

Does the directory include food and services?

Yes. It includes shops, food outlets and service businesses. The table is a snapshot of the official directory, not a claim that each is open at the same time.
