What is It Gets Bitter about?

Bianca’s latest show turns its attention to modern life, from celebrity culture and world events to the everyday habits that test her patience.

The anniversary provides the starting point, but the promised celebration is firmly in keeping with her insult-comedy style. Rather than a sentimental look back, the tour announcement promises pointed observations, quick responses and conversations with the audience.

Announcing the tour, Bianca said: “There’s a lot going on in the world today, and I have a lot to say about it. I’m looking forward to finally getting back on the road and venting to anyone who will listen.”

She added: “The old saying is ‘It gets better’, but I’m proof that after 30 years in drag ‘IT GETS BITTER’!!”

The tour description makes audience interaction part of the attraction, particularly for people sitting close to the stage. Anyone choosing the front rows should be comfortable with the possibility of becoming part of the conversation.

From Drag Race to the West End and Sussex stages

Known offstage as Roy Haylock, Bianca built an international audience after winning the sixth series of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Touring stand-up has since become a substantial part of her career, alongside film, television and theatre.

Her screen credits include Hurricane Bianca and its sequel, Hurricane Bianca 2: From Russia with Hate. She also played Hugo and his drag persona Loco Chanelle in the West End production of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, and published the advice book Blame It On Bianca Del Rio: The Expert on Nothing with an Opinion on Everything.

Another television appearance is ahead: Peacock has named Bianca in the cast of the sixth series of the US version of The Traitors.

The Brighton date follows previous visits to Sussex. Her sixth solo show, Dead Inside, reached the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill on 25 September 2024. This time, Brighton opens the announced UK and Ireland schedule before dates in Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Dublin and London.
